GCash Should Be Your New Method of Payment

Image
A friend introduced to me GCash after I complained to her about making trips to the bank in paying my monthly bills.   You see,  we need to make an effort just by simply going to the nearest bank or the nearest bayad center and that's just to simply pay your electricity, water, Internet, credit card, other utilities.  And to go there, we need to do a lot of preliminaries:  shower, get dressed, put make up, drive your car, find a parking space (if you have a car), so too much hassle for a very simple task.  And the sad thing that we all luv to hate is the long queue in banks and in bayad centers.  This simple trip to the bank or drive to the bank to pay our bills stresses us out, when in fact, the time that we spend to go there could be used for further self-improvement, and other money-making activities or more time to spend with our family.

Experience All-Day Dining at Peach Boy Restaurant

Image
You are probably wondering why it's called Peach Boy, so did I.  It's the first question that came to my mind, and the answer lies on this peach cobbler.  According to Ferly Cabrera, the restaurant manager, the owner is an avid fan of this dessert, no wonder that some items in their menu contain peach in it.   Sounds yummy already, right?   Are they expensive?  Quite the contrary because the prices are so affordable, it's incredible.  And to think their servings are huge, others would even call it American-size.  An example is their peach salad which only costs P135.  I love salads so I could not resist diving into this in no time at all.  And yes, it is simot-sarap.  It is fresh enough with the right texture to whet one's appetite, and be ready for the main courses.  The serving is just enough for one, but who's gonna count if you get one more bowl and another bowl? Another item worth mentioning is t...

The Problematic SOGIE Bill

Image
The SOGIE Bill (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression Equality Bill) also known as the Anti-Discrimination Act is authored by the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality which is headed by Senator Riza Hontiveros, has been a hotly debated issue of late. The proposed bill is being enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives and still awaiting more additional revisions.  The SOGIE Bill hit the spotlight due to the incident regarding the live video of Gretchen Diez, a transwoman for being prohibited to use the women’s comfort room at a certain mall in Cubao, Quezon City.  Social media post of known celebrities like Vice Ganda and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and the like, also increased the flames of the fire.  However, to better understand the bill that has gotten a lot of people conversing, posting and commenting in social media, let’s read some of the salient points of the bill: “Section 2, Declara...

Unli- Treats at Hodai Fusion Restaurant

Image
Rarely can we  see unlimited treats for a budget-friendly price, but here at Hodai, you'd find just that.  Hodai is a Japanese word which means unlimited.  So to use it in context, we say Hodai sushi, hodai tempura, hodai pork and beef barbecue, hodai sake, and many more.   Located at 14 Examiner Street, this new establishment easily became a hit in the area, even with other establishments around it.  Filipinos took a liking to its spacious interiors, wide and airy, bright and welcoming.  This minimalist  sign tells of a zen principle of the Japanese culture.   On this sunny August 26 day, Hodai is teeming with diners, all taking advantage of the big-slash off the original price in celebration of its 100th days of operation. Each set menu comes with a sushi platter.  Hodai combines Japanese, Korean and some European dishes to come up with a unique dish that can be claimed the Hodai version.  They use both loca...

Beware of scams in HMOs: What to Ask from your HMO

Image
In today's stressful working conditions and competitive working atmosphere, it is common for people to suffer from different ailments ranging from simple to complicated.   And most employers recognize this fact especially if they are aware of the long-term illnesses that are developed from working with them, that is why a medical benefit is one of the things employers dangle to their prospective young employees.  Now, I have nothing against HMOs,  I recognize the necessity of their products.  However, some HMOs really are not reliable.  Marketers aggressively sell them, make untruthful sales pitches just to get you to sign up, after signing you up, problems start to surface. Take Orly (fictitious name) for example, he is a diabetec and his doctor advised him to get an HMO, in anticipation of a long haul.  He was approached aggressively by a 'health counsellor' from a not-so-established HMO  (This HMO is not so popular yet)  this not-...

Awesome Salad Selection from the Salad Authority: Jar' D In Salad House

Image
You are probably wondering what Jar 'D In means, well, welcome to the club.  We know for a fact that Jar 'd In Salad House is the answer to our salad cravings, but just simply what it means?  According to Mr. Paul Gan, who is the young and dynamic proprietor of this salad resto, the name is inspired by the fact that their take out salad is contained in a jar, because it practically looks like a garden-inside-a-jar.  Add to that is the fact that the name Jar 'd In, when spoken in Spanish and Tagalog, is hardin , which means garden.   Well, looking at the array of salad selections, they do remind us of the vibrant colors of gardens in bloom during spring.  colorful and alive.     There are six (6) basic choices that Jar'd In offers, all catering to different tastes and preferences.   But they have recently added a Japanese-inspired salad, which is what you see here.   For only P300, you can enjoy this kani-m...

Is It Time for you to take a Prebiotic?

Image
Sometimes we don't notice some telltale signs that our health is in danger and when we do finally notice, it could be too late already.   I'm sure we have heard a story or two about someone who ignored some clear symptoms of an illness but chose to ignore them, and then it went a downhill path after, tsk... Hence the question, "Is It Time For You to Take a Prebiotic?"  This question is probably very applicable to me.  For years, I have always had a problematic bowel movement; being that I don't have enough fiber in my diet, I have a very irregular bowel schedule.  That's why when I was asked to try Pholigo, a prebiotic drink that assists in the improvement of intestinal micro-ecology, I was just more than excited to try it.    Pholigo has just recently been introduced to the market but there were no caveats in taking it.       The first few days that I took it in powder form (it is in a sachet; it has a te...
