  Rodriguez was formerly known as Montalban.  It is situated in the province of Rizal, at the foot of Sierra Madre.  It is the nearest town to Quezon City, through the Payatas Road that snakes by the hillside passing by Litex and exiting to Commonwealth Avenue.
