            On December 14 th of 2021, PAGASA announced that a severe tropical storm with an international name “Rai” has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was named “Odette”. At around 10pm that time, the center of severe tropical storm Odette was estimated based on all available data at 890 km East of Mindanao. Odette has an intensity of maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 125 km/h and central pressure of 985 hPa. Its present movement upon detection was heading West Northwestward with a speed of 15 km/h passing Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, over the coastal waters of San Juan in Southern Leyte, Nueva Valencia in Guimaras, and Araceli in Palawan. The Church of our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag is a popular destination for the religious especially to the devotees of the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.  Some people come over to also ask for guidance in their travels and I was one of them.  I was leaving for Cebu to spend a weekend before the beaches of Bantayan Island would become crowded, as you know, Summer 2017 was approaching and my companions would not hear going to Cebu without visiting the dear Lady.
