Awesome Salad Selection from the Salad Authority: Jar' D In Salad House

You are probably wondering what Jar 'D In means, well, welcome to the club.  We know for a fact that Jar 'd In Salad House is the answer to our salad cravings, but just simply what it means?  According to Mr. Paul Gan, who is the young and dynamic proprietor of this salad resto, the name is inspired by the fact that their take out salad is contained in a jar, because it practically looks like a garden-inside-a-jar.  Add to that is the fact that the name Jar 'd In, when spoken in Spanish and Tagalog, is hardin, which means garden.   Well, looking at the array of salad selections, they do remind us of the vibrant colors of gardens in bloom during spring.  colorful and alive.

There are six (6) basic choices that Jar'd In offers, all catering to different tastes and preferences.   But they have recently added a Japanese-inspired salad, which is what you see here.   For only P300, you can enjoy this kani-mango-nori-soba noodles, combination of course the greens as the bedding.  Completing it is the nori ranch dressing.   Are you salivating yet?  Hold your breath for there's more to come.

If you are fond of Mediterranean food, the Greek Salad is a must-try.  It is also one of their bestseller.   I like the combination of the flavors here:  The sweetness of grapes and watermelon blends well with the cherry tomatoes and other ingredients and spices, not to mention the added texture from the walnuts.  It is such a steal for only P300.00.  No scrimping on ingredients here.

This  one is a favorite of mine because this entire bowl of salad goodness is Vietnamese Bahn Mi Pomelo salad.   One single spoonful of this salad goodness is an explosion of juices from pomelo and cucumber and the texture from crisp cabbage and carrots is simply perfect.   A secret that I want to share with you is the fact that I luv Vietnamese food, but that will be a topic for another blog.    This is very affordable for the price of P220.

I will not leave this out because I simply like the pesto and the walnuts in this selection.  I am not fond of beans and I'm allergic to chicken but I did not pass this one because I love the pesto dressing and walnuts.

The young entrepreneur being interviewed by the bloggers who came to do the salad tasting.   Mr. Paul Gan is explaining about the concept of the salad house.  This is not the first venture in the salad business as he also has a salad bar located in Makati in one of the popular malls there.  One of the impetus that made him and his partners venture in the salad business is the healthy lifestyle trend lately.  Also, there is a lot of demand for healthy foods among runners and marathon participants.

And speaking of healthy food, Jar 'd In also offers healthy drinks all ranging from mild to strong.  I got to try the pandan tea drink, which is the mildest of them all.   The strongest is probably the ampalaya-mango, because the combination is somewhat not a common one, although both ampalaya and mango are ingredients in local salads.  However, it just seems to be an unchartered path as far as healthy drinks go.  I liked the lemon with chili, to me it is not as strong as the ampalaya-mango.    The one in the photo is the carrot-ginger-orange which is in the average as far as intensity goes.   The fruit juices all cost P120.

A take out salad, neatly arranged in this jar, colorful, vibrant, and
most of all, healthy, fresh and organic.

Jar 'D In Salad House is located at MC2 Building, April St.  cor. Congressional Ave, near the Mindanao Ave.  intersection.
