Boardwalk Goes Mobile

According to a motivational speaker, if you own a business nowadays, a physical address is not enough presence to attract customers.  You also need online presence for those that would be scouting or canvassing before going out to purchase a product. Customers or buyers nowadays can afford to be choosy because of the many options found in the Internet.  If you have online presence, you are searchable and you provide options to buyers. However, having online presence nowadays is just not enough also as mobile applications have become an in thing.  Now that mobile applications are the new business innovations, a lot of businesses have created mobile application to serve their customers better and faster.

One of the companies that has entered the mobile innovation is Boardwalk, the apparel company that is known nationwide for its quality and wide variety of products.   Boardwalk dominated the personalized selling field before the computer industry became a new platform for businesses.  It has been operating for over 25 years and among its celebrity endorsers is Alden Richards, one of the most in-demand celebrity endorsers in the country.

Last February 19, in its Annual Shoppers Congress, Boardwalk introduced its efforts to bring its products to its customers by means of two mobile applications: Shop-on-the-Go and Snappmile.   According to Boardwalk President Bernardo Madera, "The market is changing and we are proud to lead the way in innovating how we do business at Boardwalk.  We need to evolve with the next generations for us to continue to grow and flourish.  We are reinventing the way we approach our customers."

Shop-on-the-Go is the groundbreaking app which will hasten the transactions for the customers.  It includes e-catalog, PO coupons, multiple carts, order status and chat functions among others.  Shop-on-the-go addresses hyper convenience.  This app will give an opportunity to Personal Shoppers (registered online Boardwalk sellers) to sell, transact and monitor orders with just a click of a button.) The app does not aim to replace the personal seller.  In fact, it enhances their capacity to sell and do business.

An addition to Shop-on-the-Go is the SnappMile.  The SnappMile is an app where Personal Shoppers can earn by collecting payments or delivering products. It is another way for the Personal Shoppers to earn more and increase their income.

In this millennial age, businesses have to innovate or perish, however, just because they have gone mobile, it doesn't mean that traditional personal selling method will also suffer.  No, Boardwalk remains loyal to its hundreds of thousands of personal sellers it cultivated over the past 25 years.  Boardwalk simply adapted to the times.  Congrats and good luck  Boardwalk!
