Dairy Queen Gets Endorsements from Beauty Queens

Winners of the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant namely: Bb. Pilipinas Universe, Pia Wurtbach; Bb. Pilipinas International, Janicel Lubina; Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, Ms. Rogelie Catacutan, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, Cristi McGarry; and Bb. Pilipinas-tourism, Lorraine Golis, are the current endorsers of Dairy Queen, the ice cream that we all associate with the iconic word 'blizzard.'  Blizzard is served upside down to prove the consistency of its components.    I remember that I consider eating Dairy Queen as a treat, it's not the ordinary run-of-the-mill ice cream.  It's more expensive yet, many times more delicious than most ice creams we all have gotten used to.   



Pia and her entourage also are featured in the first thematic television commercial of Dairy Queen.  Incidentally, Dairy Queen International celebrated its 75th anniversary on June 23, 2015.  Imagine that, little do we know that Dairy Queen has already been around for 75 years, providing us quality ice cream.




According to the beauty queens, they had fun in creating the TV commercial which was the first experience for some of them.  They expressed their gratitude to the COO of Pizza Hut, Teck Huak Lim, for giving them the opportunity to endorse one of the products that they absolutely believe in.  They said that Dairy Queen is one ice cream that they will not hesitate in endorsing because of its really a good ice cream and a good product.




When asked how shooting the commercial was for them, all of them were unanimous in saying that the experience was fun and the production staff were very helpful and supportive in their needs while shooting the commercial.  Their experiences during the shooting of the commercial will be one of the moments that they will cherish in their entire life.

Filipino Tourist Targeted in New York

          Hate crimes in New York specifically directed towards Asians have become rampant in the past few years. We have heard of random attacks towards Asians inside the subway, in the streets of New York happen in the past two years or so.  Will we ever see the end of it?  What triggers these hate towards Asians?   Last Saturday, the Philippine Consulate General in New York issued an advisory.  Apparently, one Filipino tourist from Cebu was the latest victim of an assault stemming from hatred towards Asians.  This attack happened near the Philippine Center in Manhattan last Wednesday. rappler.com           The consulate posted in its Facebook page that the 18-year old victim who is from Cebu, suffered facial injuries because he was beaten up.  Authorities still can not confirm whether the attack was a random act of violence or an anti-Asian hate crime.         Records have shown that it was the 41st incident that involved a Filipino who was either a victim of a hate crime or an act

Circle of Fun is the Latest attraction in Quezon City Memorial Circle

I was in Quezon Memorial Circle this afternoon and I chanced upon this mini amusement center currently being constructed inside the big Quezon City landmark.  This new attraction at the QCMC showcases thrilling rides like the Wild Wind.  This is actually like the Space Shuttle of Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna.  It is a modified form of the traditional roller-coaster.  There are also rides for the little ones like the usual water bump cars.  And the horror rides which I will dare not ride because I do not have the kind of heart that can withstand intense fear.   While I laud the Quezon City government for this endeavor of providing a small amusement park for the residents of Quezon City so that they do not have to go all the way to Star City or Enchanted Kingdom to be able to experience the different rides, I can't help but feel dismayed over the changes in the scenery inside the memorial.  I frequented the place way, way back when I lived near UP Campus to en
