Kanto Fare with a Twist

A badminton-mate had been raving about 'kanto,'  a new tiny but terrible resto that has been earning high ratings from customers at the Eastwood City Area.  It does not sound like a highfalutin, fancy kind of resto but it can give any gourmet restos stiff competition.  Its origins can be traced in Mandaluyong area  where it became a hit and a favorite of the community. 

This is one of the originals that I highly recommend especially in this scorching summer heat.  I admit that ice scramble is something I am not keen about, but Kantos version of the affordable refreshment., the ice scramble, which can be easily bought from food carts along the road, will definitely change your opinion of this 'pang-masa' cooler.  Kanto totally repackaged the simple ice scramble with additives that added texture and richness to make it competitive with the halu-halo and sundae.  This marvel costs only P35.  It is no cheap treat, because of its nutritional value and incredible taste.

Want to know what the price ranges are?  Believe you me, you probably can't find anything like it anywhere. The prices are incredibly low considering that you are getting quality, almost gourmet fare.  You can get full and satisfied over a ninety-five-peso meal which is the maximum amount you will need to get a full meal consisting of rice, eggs and the basic entree.

Found below is the tuyo flakes with kesong puti.  Not only is it oozing with mouth-watering goodness but there is also a great balance between the kesong-puti and tuyo flakes.  A rich pesto sauce is also poured over it.  The entire picture is just so yummy both in photo and in the actual food.

 

Kanto has more combo meals to choose from, like the breaded pork chop and honey garlic chicken which are also filling and definitely worth coming back to Kanto not only twice or thrice but a lot more.  You need to try all kinds of food that they have to be able to really savor and experience the goodness of gourmet Kanto fare.
