Abenson Extends Assistance to Bulakenyos

We all know that Bulacan is one of the provinces that suffered from Ramon's wrath and the devastation caused a lot of suffering among the Bulakenyos.  During times like these, Filipinos never fail to extend their hands whether it be volunteering to help evacuees or donating food and clothing.  In any way we can, we strive to give assistance.  It is in the spirit of helping that Abenson, the leading appliance store in the country, stepped up to help the Bulakenyos.

Through its "We Serve Program"  Abenson will be offering free laundry services, free appliance cleaning, checkups, and discounts on spare parts for electronics. This bayanihan effort is in cooperation with Samsung, Sharp, LG, TCL, Kelvinator, Condura, Fujindenzo, and Whirlpool, with the coordination of the Bulacan provincial government.

Abenson will be offering its services in the following areas on these dates:

October 25 (Tuesday) : Sta. Monica Covered Court, Hagonoy
October 26 (Wednesday) : Municipal Covered Court, Paombong
October 27 (Thursday) : Sports Complex and Convention Center, Malolos
October 28 (Friday) : Poblacion Sports Complex, Calumpit


As expected, Abenson remains true to its commitment to giving Filipinos quality service and living up to the tenets of the bayanihan spirit by extending help to all in need.

Filipino Tourist Targeted in New York

          Hate crimes in New York specifically directed towards Asians have become rampant in the past few years. We have heard of random attacks towards Asians inside the subway, in the streets of New York happen in the past two years or so.  Will we ever see the end of it?  What triggers these hate towards Asians?   Last Saturday, the Philippine Consulate General in New York issued an advisory.  Apparently, one Filipino tourist from Cebu was the latest victim of an assault stemming from hatred towards Asians.  This attack happened near the Philippine Center in Manhattan last Wednesday. rappler.com           The consulate posted in its Facebook page that the 18-year old victim who is from Cebu, suffered facial injuries because he was beaten up.  Authorities still can not confirm whether the attack was a random act of violence or an anti-Asian hate crime.         Records have shown that it was the 41st incident that involved a Filipino who was either a victim of a hate crime or an act

Circle of Fun is the Latest attraction in Quezon City Memorial Circle

I was in Quezon Memorial Circle this afternoon and I chanced upon this mini amusement center currently being constructed inside the big Quezon City landmark.  This new attraction at the QCMC showcases thrilling rides like the Wild Wind.  This is actually like the Space Shuttle of Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna.  It is a modified form of the traditional roller-coaster.  There are also rides for the little ones like the usual water bump cars.  And the horror rides which I will dare not ride because I do not have the kind of heart that can withstand intense fear.   While I laud the Quezon City government for this endeavor of providing a small amusement park for the residents of Quezon City so that they do not have to go all the way to Star City or Enchanted Kingdom to be able to experience the different rides, I can't help but feel dismayed over the changes in the scenery inside the memorial.  I frequented the place way, way back when I lived near UP Campus to en
