Zipping down the ZIPLINE at Tagaytay Picnic Grove

On weekends, one of the most visited areas in Tagaytay, which is just about an hour drive away from Manila, is the Tagaytay Picnic Grove.  Just like myself, people come here for various reasons.   I particularly appreciate the cool breeze that comes from Taal Lake.  It is one of the things that invite people to come here.  This day, I would see a lot of families enjoying their Saturday together.    Youngsters take advantage of the soft wind and flew kites, while their companions enjoy the food that they brought for their dry picnic.  This weekend, I came to Tagaytay to finally try the one thing that I have wanted always.  The ZIPLINE.  For me, it is the ultimate test of my courage, well, not until I would be able to ride the Edgecoaster in Cebu City.  But I will cross that bridge when I get there.  For now,  my hurdle would be the ZIPLINE.

The Zipline in Tagaytay is approximately 200 meters and it is situated above a thick vegetation consisting of short trees, shrubs and grass, so riding it is not so nerve-wracking unlike other extreme activities.  There are two positions to choose when riding the Zipline, the prone position, which gives a good view of the scenery that you would be breezing through,  or the sitting position.  I chose the latter because it does not make me feel nauseous afterwards, as I am wont to when I experience sudden fast movements.

There is another thing that a group of people could try when they are here at Tagaytay Picnic Grove, the cable car.  I decided against it because I would be passing by the same scenery and there is no fear factor involved when I take the cable ride.  Well, I was just in the mood to give myself a little shake.

That's me, in a sitting position almost near the end of my ride.  Of course, I felt a little amount of fear, especially when I think that a little technical error and I will go straight to my grave, if I do not end badly bruised and broken in the hospital, thank God, none of that happened.   I suddenly gained more confidence to try the longest ZIPLINE in the country which is located in Cagayan de Oro, I heard its 800 meters long.  Wow, that's four times in length so that means fourfold fear too.  Well, Cagayan de Oro, here I come...
