Scenic Tagaytay City

Tagaytay is the most accessible tourist destination from Manila. Only one and half-hour ride from Manila, Tagaytay offers a breathtaking view of Taal Lake - Taal is a lake inside an island which is inside a lake (you need to see it for yourself to know what I am talking about). People taking a respite from the city life can just hie off to Tagaytay and enjoy the calm scenery and refreshing atmosphere. Tagaytay hotels and resorts are ideal venues for trainings, conferences and retreats.
A must try for visitors is Mushroom Burger. It has a distinct taste that one will surely enjoy.



Tagaytay is also a recreational place. You may try horse-backriding for only P700 but prices may vary for a group tour.





A bangka (a local canoe) ride is necessary to go to the lake and volcano. What is a short adventure to the beauty you will behold upon reaching there?

Other places one can visit are the: Tagaytay Picnic Grove,
a popular playground where one can get a fine view of the volcano; People's Park in the Sky; or one can drop by Divine Word Seminary, one of the popular schools of theology in the Philippines.

Filipino Tourist Targeted in New York

          Hate crimes in New York specifically directed towards Asians have become rampant in the past few years. We have heard of random attacks towards Asians inside the subway, in the streets of New York happen in the past two years or so.  Will we ever see the end of it?  What triggers these hate towards Asians?   Last Saturday, the Philippine Consulate General in New York issued an advisory.  Apparently, one Filipino tourist from Cebu was the latest victim of an assault stemming from hatred towards Asians.  This attack happened near the Philippine Center in Manhattan last Wednesday. rappler.com           The consulate posted in its Facebook page that the 18-year old victim who is from Cebu, suffered facial injuries because he was beaten up.  Authorities still can not confirm whether the attack was a random act of violence or an anti-Asian hate crime.         Records have shown that it was the 41st incident that involved a Filipino who was either a victim of a hate crime or an act

Circle of Fun is the Latest attraction in Quezon City Memorial Circle

I was in Quezon Memorial Circle this afternoon and I chanced upon this mini amusement center currently being constructed inside the big Quezon City landmark.  This new attraction at the QCMC showcases thrilling rides like the Wild Wind.  This is actually like the Space Shuttle of Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna.  It is a modified form of the traditional roller-coaster.  There are also rides for the little ones like the usual water bump cars.  And the horror rides which I will dare not ride because I do not have the kind of heart that can withstand intense fear.   While I laud the Quezon City government for this endeavor of providing a small amusement park for the residents of Quezon City so that they do not have to go all the way to Star City or Enchanted Kingdom to be able to experience the different rides, I can't help but feel dismayed over the changes in the scenery inside the memorial.  I frequented the place way, way back when I lived near UP Campus to en
