The World Famous Pies of Pie-Face are now in MOA
Pie Face is now in the MOA. Yes. You read it right guys. Just two weeks ago, Pie Face opened its first branch in the Philippines in the Mall of Asia or MOA, as we all call it. In the next few weeks, they will open another branch in Eastwood City and in Ortigas Center. Alfred Lay, its COO, proudly told a group of bloggers that they hold the franchise for Pie Face in the Philippines.
As Filipinos, when we think of pie, what often comes to mind is "pizza" and the more common 'egg pie and buko pie,' a specialty of Laguna, a province in the south of Manila. Very few would imagine pies as being savory, a great meal, and easy to serve food. Here at our midst now is the establishment that will change our concept of pies. Pie Face has had 12 successful years providing and serving delectable pies in Australia.
Pie-Face's world famous pies are fresh every day and each pie is lovingly hand-prepared before it is placed in the oven. That's why they look irregular and unidentical. Alfred Lay also proudly shared that in preparing the pastry, they use only the best butter from France. No wonder once you start popping the tiny mouth-watering pies in your mouth, you simply can't stop. It would just invite you to eat more.
Among the flavors worth trying are chili con carne, if you like the spicy taste; the philly cheese steak, for a cheesy flavor and the pulled pork, if you want the 'tamis-anghang' kind. Each pie bears a logo on top: three Cs would mean chili con carne and if it has a big P, it means, philly cheese steak. Let the logos guide you when you make an order. A personal favorite is the chili con carne.
Aside from savory pies, there are also desert items that are available for those with sweet tooth. Pie-face serves also European-inspired coffee, Di Bella, which goes with the sweet things and desert items. Pies are almost similar to the empanada, that we are all familiar with, which is a meal in itself. They are great substitute for the usual rice and meat fare. I can't wait for Pie-Face to open a branch in Quezon City. So looking forward to it.
