Hortikultura is an annual event organized by The Philippine Horticultural Society, Inc. an organization of people who are passionate about plants. It aims to spread their passion and enthusiasm to other people in order to increase awareness about our very own plant species, discover new species and know the state of our plant and flower industry as well. Hortikultura2018 is a Plant and Arts Fest featuring endemic species, indigenous species and Philippine hybrid plants. Held at the Quezon Memorial Circle, it officially opened on February 2 and will be open to the public until Feb 11, 2018.
Landscaping at the Tropical Garden |
Aside from feasting your eyes on the abundant display of flowers in different vibrant colors neatly arranged in a well-landscaped garden around you, going to the Hortikultura is like taking a refresher in your biology subject. You'll get reacquainted with the different plant and flower species that you may have long forgotten. Do cactus, succulents, begonias, anthuriums, orchids, ferns, annuals, etc, ring a bell to you?

You'll also see different landscaping depending on the theme of the garden. Inside the Tropical garden, you'll find lush greenery and thick foliage, while in the Promenade, you'll see various annual flowering plants that make a colorful carpeting of flowers that make a great backdrop for pictures.
