5 Reasons To Hang-out at Skippy's

If you are looking for the perfect watering hole to hang-out, share a few drinks with friends, watch your favorite ball game like volleyball, soccer or basketball, or any sport on a big screen, then Skippy's is the best place for you.   Owned by an Australian, Stephen Bird, Skippy's is basically new.  It opened in 2015, but already popular among the BGC crowd of professionals.  Here are some of the reasons why I choose Skippy's over other bars in Metro Manila. 

 1.  Every time you turn your head, there is a television where you can watch the on-going games.  I have never been to a place where you can see TV sets mounted conspicuously on all four walls and two gigantic screens that even the passers-by could watch the games.  I'm a TV fan, so the sight of a screen or a TV set is already a big plus for me.

 2.  It is great for non-smokers.  And even if you're a smoker, you can still see the games from the smoking area because of the gigantic screen which is very conspicuously situated that you won't miss the action.  

3.  The crowd is not so noisy and rowdy, which is really rare among bars.   You can still have a decent conversation with your friends where you don't have to shout your lungs out.   This is one factor that I really appreciated. 

 4.  You get quality food for the price you pay.  And speaking of food, here are some of the items you can enjoy here: 


The seafood platter, which consists of baked mussels, calamares 
and fried shrimp.  This costs only P490.
  

Chicken and bacon taco topped with alfalfa.   This is really filling and rich.  I shared it with a good friend.  This costs only P200.  


And Skippy's pride, smoked bourbon ribs, marinated in Steve's personally created BBQ sauce, (therefore it contains secret ingredients.)  Served with summer vegetables and chips.  Available in 300g, P800 and 600g, P1400.   May be enjoyed by a company of two.   Cooked for a total of 6 hours that it can be enjoyed by a toothless man.   


This margarita is a winner.   A group of 5 can enjoy this serving.  If you feel like swimming in a pool of margarita, order this; it will satisfy your thirst for alcohol and get a great sleep as a bonus.   


5.   Their P150/ten pc of chicken wings is the final clincher.   You probably have tried all kinds of chicken wings from every food establishment that you can imagine, but I'll guarantee that Skippy's chicken wings won't disappoint.  They're tastier and more flavorful compared to the more popular ones and best of all, they're really affordable.  You need to order one alcoholic drink to avail this special.

Circle of Fun is the Latest attraction in Quezon City Memorial Circle

I was in Quezon Memorial Circle this afternoon and I chanced upon this mini amusement center currently being constructed inside the big Quezon City landmark.  This new attraction at the QCMC showcases thrilling rides like the Wild Wind.  This is actually like the Space Shuttle of Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna.  It is a modified form of the traditional roller-coaster.  There are also rides for the little ones like the usual water bump cars.  And the horror rides which I will dare not ride because I do not have the kind of heart that can withstand intense fear.   While I laud the Quezon City government for this endeavor of providing a small amusement park for the residents of Quezon City so that they do not have to go all the way to Star City or Enchanted Kingdom to be able to experience the different rides, I can't help but feel dismayed over the changes in the scenery inside the memorial.  I frequented the place way, way back whe...

Astig ang ATV sa Mt. Mayon!

    One of the reasons that tourists go to Mt. Mayon in droves is the ATV Adventure.   This activity allows tourists to go to the foot of Mt.  Mayon and see the beauty of this great lady up close by means of an all-terrain vehicle.  Up there, visitors can also enjoy the view of the city of Legaspi.  They can also savor the scent of the clean mountain air and get lots and lots of photographs amid the verdant background.  ATV stands for all-terrain vehicle.  This transportation is especially built to enable riders to get past all kinds of terrain , may it be rough, rocky, watery, sandy, muddy, hilly, etc.  It is basically automatic, but it also has gears (I wouldn't know when to use them, if you ask me.)    Before I started my three-hour drive to the foot of Mt. Silay City: Vigan of the South and The Paris of Negros

While enjoying my breakfast of adobong baboy and hot beef soup in Mam and Sir Diner located along the high way in Silay City, I noticed that most of the people around me were mestizas and mestizos so the curiouser I got about the history, not only of Silay but also of Negros Occidental.
