An Afternoon With our Purr--y Friends at the Cat Cafe Manila
Catlovers now have a place to go (in the city) if they want to spend some time with our four-legged purr-y friends while they laze away their day. There is a place called Cat Cafe which is located in 189 Maginhawa St. where you can pet and hug adorable CATS.
The cats that laze around Cat Cafe were all taken from CARA Welfare Philippines. It is a welfare center for rescued cats. Therefore, most or majority of cats are 'pusapin,' short for "pusang pinoy." Animal lovers refrain from calling homeless cats 'pusang kalye or pusakal,' because native cats are now called, aptly, "pusapin."
At the Cat Cafe, guests are required to pay P200.00. P100 goes to the donation box for the food and other needs of the cats. The other P100.00 is consumable. You may order cold or hot tea and other snack items like sandwiches, pasta dishes and savory pies.
Inside the cafe, guests can see different appliance that cats can use. So we can see cats lazing at a tiny hammock or hiding inside tiny hanging homes, sleeping. Cats usually sleep around noon time, so guests can just look at them and wait until they wake up and stretch out. They look so cute doing this!
If you have the budget and are willing to pay P800 to adopt a cat, you may file for an application. The cats are open for adoption. They need a loving home and loving care. It is not easy taking care of any pet. Pets like cats bring us a sense of calmness and relaxation. I look at them and marvel at their grace endlessly.
Drop by the Cat Cafe and help the rescued cats. If you can, give them a home and be their adoptive family. When we came, we were lucky that there were only two guests, sometimes they are filled to a brim and this bothers the cats. So make a reservation first so that the will reserve the hour/hours for you. Call: 0922 836 4441
