Starmobile Play Spark...Starmobile's Latest Star

Starmobile cell phones have slowly gained momentum in the past few months as people have started to be more curious about this new player in the gadget industry.  Though Starmobile is relatively new and a 'baby,' there are already cell phone models that are competitive with some of the products from big players.  I have a particular liking to one of its products which is a TV phone because it is just so ideal for watching the news while commuting or in the car.   However, now, I would like to give a short, concise but helpful review of one of its latest products the Starmobile Play Spark.

The Starmobile Play Spark was just released this month and I can honestly say that it has a lot of positive qualities. Let me start with the obvious ones.  First, it is affordable because it costs only P1,999.  Considering that it has a quad core processor and costs barely P2,000, it really is already cheap.  Second, it easy on the hands.  I don't really like bulky phones coz I have small hands, so I like that the Play Spark is easy to carry and fits snugly between my fingers and palm.  I can also just slip it in small and tiny spaces within my bag.  But there is more than meets the eye in this small but useful phone.  Well, it isn't a smartphone for nothing; right?

But first the specs:
Price: 1,990;
Display Screen: 4 inch;
Dimensions: 124.3 x 64 x 10.8 mm;

Weight: 117 g;
FM Radio;

Dual SIM;
CPU: 1.3 Ghz, quad-core processor;
ROM 4 GB expandable up to 32 GB with micro-SD;
RAM: 512 MB;
Back Camera: 2 MP w/ 1080 video capture;
Selfie Camera:  VGA;
Battery:  1,500 mAh;
Connectivity: Wifi, 3G, HSPA+ Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, OTA;
OS:  5.0 Lollipop Android;
Sensors:  Proximity, accelerometer, gravity, light.

I tested how fast the Starmobile Play Spark can download some common social media apps like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and I was surprised at the speed that the Starmobile Play Spark downloaded them.  In less than two minutes, all three were downloaded.   Imagine that.  For almost P2,000 pesos, you are getting a quadcore phone, meaning to say, you can easily download, not only social media apps, but other useful applications as well as games and file readers.  I tried downloading a word document reader as well as spreadsheet reader and it was a piece of cake.  This may have only a 4-inch-wide screen display, but for me, it is not the width that matters but what you can do with it.  The 4-inch wide screen display can still show clearly business documents that you may need to check when you are on the go.   Your spreadsheets are still clear and readable even in this size of display.

The Starmobile Play Spark is quite fully-loaded with the useful apps that go with it like radio, video player and etc.  and runs on the latest Android OS, Lollipop.
