Chronicles of Visions Exhibit Launched by Megaworld

25 visionaries are honored through an exhibit entitled “Chronicles of Visions” which is in line with the 25th anniversary of Megaworld, one of the leading community developers in the country.  

The said exhibit will first be viewed in Newport Mall at Resort World Manila on July 23 – 27.  Chronicles of Visions is a celebration of the journey of Megaworld’s 25 Visionaries, exemplary entrepreneurs, executives and other vanguards in their fields who have made Megaworld their home and whose stories have proven that anyone hardworking and dedicated to their craft can really turn their visions in life into a reality.

Among these Visionaries are industry leaders like H.E. Asif Anwar Ahmad, British Ambassador to the Philippines; Ben Chan, Executive Creative Director of Bench; Anton Huang, Executive Vice President of Stores Specialist Inc.; Marvin Agustin, Ricky Laudico and Raymund Magdaluyo, leading restaurateurs behind SumoSam, Red Crab and other popular dining establishments; Hubert Young, President and CEO of UCC Ueshima Coffee Philippines Inc.; Erik Cua, superclub innovator; Dr. Aivee Teo, pioneer in aesthetic technology; JC Buendia, top fashion designer; Lorenzo Tan, President and CEO of Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) and Olen Juarez-Lim, empowerment expert.

Also included among the list of Visionaries are pioneers like Fely Atienza, President of Chinese International School Manila; Manolito Tayag, Country Managing Director of Accenture Philippines; Eduardo Sahagun, President and CEO of Holcim Philippines; Emmanuel Mendoza, Director for Global Delivery Services Philippines and South Pacific of Hewlett Packard; Peter Buenaseda, Senior Site Officer & Head of Human Resources of Thomson Reuters; Anna Claudine David, Managing Director of FactSet, Captain Harry Lero, CEO and President of Airgurus.

Also being recognized are young and rising achievers such as Tristan Diao of Bayer Business Services;  Roma Villarama, Senior Director for Philippine Operations of Concentrix; Emmy Lopez of Artesyn-Emerson and Kathryn Cruz of The Results Companies, along with luminaries from Megaworld such as Architect Hermelyn Cullano and Maria Rosario Rosales, Head of Megaworld Corporation’s Treasury Department; Benjie Capistrano, Site Electrical Engineer of Newport City and Raymond Angelo, Megaworld System and Network Administrator.

The exhibit will also be touring Venice Piazza at McKinley Hill on July 28 – August 3, Eastwood Mall on August 4 – 10, Lucky Chinatown on August 11 – 17, Burgos Circle at Forbes Town Center on August 18 – 24.

Circle of Fun is the Latest attraction in Quezon City Memorial Circle

I was in Quezon Memorial Circle this afternoon and I chanced upon this mini amusement center currently being constructed inside the big Quezon City landmark.  This new attraction at the QCMC showcases thrilling rides like the Wild Wind.  This is actually like the Space Shuttle of Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna.  It is a modified form of the traditional roller-coaster.  There are also rides for the little ones like the usual water bump cars.  And the horror rides which I will dare not ride because I do not have the kind of heart that can withstand intense fear.   While I laud the Quezon City government for this endeavor of providing a small amusement park for the residents of Quezon City so that they do not have to go all the way to Star City or Enchanted Kingdom to be able to experience the different rides, I can't help but feel dismayed over the changes in the scenery inside the memorial.  I frequented the place way, way back whe...

Astig ang ATV sa Mt. Mayon!

    One of the reasons that tourists go to Mt. Mayon in droves is the ATV Adventure.   This activity allows tourists to go to the foot of Mt.  Mayon and see the beauty of this great lady up close by means of an all-terrain vehicle.  Up there, visitors can also enjoy the view of the city of Legaspi.  They can also savor the scent of the clean mountain air and get lots and lots of photographs amid the verdant background.  ATV stands for all-terrain vehicle.  This transportation is especially built to enable riders to get past all kinds of terrain , may it be rough, rocky, watery, sandy, muddy, hilly, etc.  It is basically automatic, but it also has gears (I wouldn't know when to use them, if you ask me.)    Before I started my three-hour drive to the foot of Mt. Silay City: Vigan of the South and The Paris of Negros

While enjoying my breakfast of adobong baboy and hot beef soup in Mam and Sir Diner located along the high way in Silay City, I noticed that most of the people around me were mestizas and mestizos so the curiouser I got about the history, not only of Silay but also of Negros Occidental. Silay City is also known as the Paris of Negros because of the well-preserved old haciendas , about 30 of them, that provide a glimpse of life back when it was the leading sugar-producer in the country, examples of these are the Balay Negrense and the Bernardino-Ysabel Jalandoni Home which have been turned into museums for guests to appreciate the history and the culture of the town especially during when hacienderos were the leading figures of society.
