The Most Beautiful Woman in The World for 2013 is a Filipina

Yes, finally, our representative bagged that elusive crown we have attempted to bring home for many decades.  In the paradise island of Bali, one of 17,500 islands of the largest archipelago in the world, Indonesia, Megan Young would make history for she is the first Filipina who would reign as Miss World for one year.  Her bright and round expressive eyes, statuesque figure and confident answer (never mind if it is generic) would convince the judges that the crown belongs to her.  She'd been a favorite from the moment she arrived in Bali, captivating the hearts of many.   Megan maintained her top post throughout the entire process, winning some minor awards and even performing one of the epic dances from our Muslim brothers. Indeed, the Philippines got the perfect ticket and she was ripe and for the opportunity.  The timing was simply impeccable.

The timing couldn't be more perfect especially that the Philippines needed a silver lining when everything has been turning sour and gray.   Megan momentarily took our attention off of the mini-war between the armed Islamic group and government troops in Zamboanga City.   We had eagerly awaited news from Bali while also following the investigations about the PDAF Scam being  investigated by our selected Senators.  We read with positive hopes the articles about the Miss World Pageant and hoped that Megan will be able to wear that crown and walk that walk for one year.  And she did not disappoint.

Megan should feel uber-proud for bringing such an honor to the country and to the Filipinos for being the first Filipina to bring home the Miss World crown.  What a joyous event and a wonderful night for those who supported and believed in her capacity to perform the Miss World duties and tasks.  For here, in the middle of paradise, before the millions of people who watched the pageant all over the world, Megan made a promise to be the best embodiment of a Miss World and no doubt she will keep that promise.  Congratulations, Megan!!!
