Foodie Adventures at UP-Ayala Land Technohub and Alabang

Here's great news for foodies, and those who want to indulge in their culinary cravings this weekend, you’re in luck friends because the Mezza Norte night food market opens in Quezon City on Thursday and the Ulimate Taste Test holds its ninth round in Alabang on Sunday!

From the same organizers of the popular Mercato Centrale food market in Bonifacio Global City, Mezza Norte in UP-AyalaLand Technohub along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City brings together the best in home-cooked foods and pastry and dessert finds that the North has to offer, along with your Mercato Centrale favorite food stands! Mezza Norte opens on Thursday (July 26) and will be open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6:00pm to 3:00am.
 
Organized by Anton Diaz, of www.OurAwesomePlanet.com, the Ultimate Taste Test 9.0 is an opportunity to try out and personally critique different specialty foods and new or soon-to-be-launched dishes straight from the kitchens of up and coming and popular food entrepreneurs from all over Metro Manila. 

Among the winners of the previous Ultimate Taste Tests are Dulcelin Gourmet specialties, Supreme Brazo, Angus Beef Tapa, Risa Chocolates, Carmen’s Best Artisan Ice Cream and Merry Moo Premium Ice Cream.  The Ultimate Taste Test Version 9.0 will be on Sunday (July 26) starting 6:00pm at the Soderno Night Food Market in Molito Commercial Center, corners of Madrigal and Commerce (in front of Alabang Town Center), Alabang.

Circle of Fun is the Latest attraction in Quezon City Memorial Circle

I was in Quezon Memorial Circle this afternoon and I chanced upon this mini amusement center currently being constructed inside the big Quezon City landmark.  This new attraction at the QCMC showcases thrilling rides like the Wild Wind.  This is actually like the Space Shuttle of Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna.  It is a modified form of the traditional roller-coaster.  There are also rides for the little ones like the usual water bump cars.  And the horror rides which I will dare not ride because I do not have the kind of heart that can withstand intense fear.   While I laud the Quezon City government for this endeavor of providing a small amusement park for the residents of Quezon City so that they do not have to go all the way to Star City or Enchanted Kingdom to be able to experience the different rides, I can't help but feel dismayed over the changes in the scenery inside the memorial.  I frequented the place way, way back when I lived near UP Campus to en

Astig ang ATV sa Mt. Mayon!

    One of the reasons that tourists go to Mt. Mayon in droves is the ATV Adventure.   This activity allows tourists to go to the foot of Mt.  Mayon and see the beauty of this great lady up close by means of an all-terrain vehicle.  Up there, visitors can also enjoy the view of the city of Legaspi.  They can also savor the scent of the clean mountain air and get lots and lots of photographs amid the verdant background.  ATV stands for all-terrain vehicle.  This transportation is especially built to enable riders to get past all kinds of terrain , may it be rough, rocky, watery, sandy, muddy, hilly, etc.  It is basically automatic, but it also has gears (I wouldn't know when to use them, if you ask me.)    Before I started my three-hour drive to the foot of Mt. Mayon, I had a quick dry-run just to test if the machine was working well.  Also I made sure that  I was wearing all the necessary gears to keep me safe and unharmed throughout the entire adventure like helmet, etc.

Iba, Zambales: Bakasyunan sa Baybay Dagat

Get a load of the dramatic Zambales sunset at Bakasyunan sa Baybay Dagat. Bakasyunan sa Baybay Dagat is located at Barrio Amungan in Iba, Zambales about 4 hours drive from Manila. Bakasyunan is amazing since its waters were never deep and always lukewarm, that you always want to submerge yourself under them. You can go as far as 300 meters from the shore but not fear you'd drown. This is a view of the sea at Zambales. It is kept clean by a regular beach clean-up. Aside from swimming in the beach, visitors can amuse themselves at the many recreational facilities that Bakasyunan offers. One of them is the fishing lagoon. Visitors can also try putting at this mini-golf-course. Or try a volleyball game or two. And take a quick dip in the inviting pool, anytime of the day.
