Shamsey Supsup Wins Miss Universe Third Place

I was one of those who monitored the pageant on Sept. 12, because, for the first time, I was convince the crown belongs to Shamsey Supsup, the Philippines' bet for the Miss Universe title. I believe Shamsey is one of the really good representatives that we have chosen (if not the best) to represent the country in the world's most prestigious beauty contest. Shamsey caught the eyes of countless viewers and of course, she also brought attention to the Philippines, which is really one of the positive things that this pageant did for the country, and to Shamsey also.
Shamsey sparkled like a star through out the pageant. Her make up, which I thought from the initial photos that I saw of her, was kind of too strong, was softened up and it brought out her striking features. She just exudes confidence, wit, and glamor, on stage or off. In addition to that, she is articulate and spontaneous. I became an instant fan. Without batting an eyelash, she answered the question thrown at her by one of the judges and in a language that's not her mother tongue.
Well, even if Shamsey bagged the third place of the pageant, Filipinos all over the world are proud of her, and the way she represented the country and herself and her victory is also our victory. Congrats Shamsey!
