The Stunning Northern Blossom of Atok Benguet

Image
It is not always that one gets to see a mountain slope that is covered with all sorts of flowers, some of them I can't even pronounce, but what a stunning view it is.  I instantly thanked the Creator for giving humans such lovely forms of nature upon seeing that breathtaking sight.  This is what welcomes guests upon arriving at Northern Blossom up in the mountain of Atok, Benguet.   Location of  Northern Blossom: Northern Blossom is located up in Barangay Sayangan, in Atok, Benguet, along the Halsema Highway.   Halsema is that highway that you'd come out of Baguio through until the Municipality of Atok. It is a particularly great ride if your favorite cruising songs are playing in the background and you are overlooking a tranquil mountainside in the early morning with faint sunrise lighting up the early dawn.  And the cold morning breeze envelopes your face...you'd wish the journey would be neverending. Entrance Fee to Northern Blossom: Adults - P...

Time flies so fast no matter how hard you pull it to slow down, already we are approaching mid-year and amid all the calamities, quarantines, earthquakes, life, like time, continues to move.    2020 is really an eventful year, hopefully, it will take a respite; so that we can all take a deep breath and relax and be ready and braced for any onslaught of challenges again.  Whew...let's put bad things aside and let's be ready with something we have control of like celebrating Father's Day.  Yes, on June 21, 2020, it will be time to honor our fathers, tatay, itay, papa, daddy, dada, in whichever way we address him.  It always stumps me about what to give him every time this day arrives because we don't want to make a mistake of giving him the same gift we gave him last year or the year before or the year before, lest we be accused of not making an effort to buy him  a gift he truly deserves.  But enough of that, I made a research about how to say Happy Fat...

The National Museum of Natural History: Lolong's New Home

Image
There was a time when I wondered about our National Museum.  Where it is, what's in there, etc.  You see, most countries that I have been to have a national museum that is really well designed, well thought of, and contains great items, etc.  Say for example, the National Museum of South Korea which is a multi-story structure and contains antique items, archaeological finds, and other items that tell about the history of Korea.  And every day, guests and tourist flock there.  Which shows that people are willing to pay for a well-maintained, educational and informative museum .        The "Tree of Life" is the centerpiece of the main lobby  that welcomes guests to the museum    So imagine my delight when finally, we have a world-class National Museum that we can be proud of, and not just one, but four types that feature different themes:   Our National Museum is actually a complex consisting of The Nat...
